10,000

I wasn’t going to post this because my initial thought was this is not a big deal.

That was my initial thought: 10,000 podcast episode downloads is not a big deal.

But when I’m trying to convince myself not to do something, I know I’m typically being guided by fear.

That’s what was going on here.

I was scared.

Scared to be seen starting small.

Scared that “people” would laugh at me for thinking 10,000 downloads matters at all.

But then I remembered that every single experience I’ve had has led me to this moment right now.

That’s what I feel anchored and confident in.

Over the past two years, a community has shown up and listened to the Humble Rising podcast focused on how women of color can have fulfilling careers and lives, and how to navigate the challenges along the way.

When I took a long break last year, you messaged me.

When my words pierce through you, you let me know.

You message me and share how much conversations and words moved you or awakened something in you.

That’s why I do this.

How many more women need these messages?

How can the podcast, coaching and I make more of an impact?

I know what’s it’s like to be the daughter of immigrant parents, to grow up feeling like being Latina wasn’t “cool” except when I was around my family, to be one of the few, to have career and life pivots people thought I was crazy to make.

How can I help empower more women especially First Gen and women of color?

It’s what I care deeply about.

It’s what I love: empowering other women to see their power to redefine their lives, and take back the reigns.

Because no one is coming to save us.

We have to support one another on this complex rollercoaster journey.

So 10,000 unique downloads……

No, it’s not a big deal.

It’s a massive deal.

And I’m grateful to all of you who listen, share the episodes, spread the word about the podcast, and rate and review it.
