I used to play it small…

I used to play small. I was that junior associate partners said knew the answers and had good ideas, but wouldn’t speak up. I remember one saying I needed to believe in myself more, that I needed more confidence.

That’s how I started my career. I didn’t speak up. I didn’t share my ideas. I didn’t feel good enough. I didn’t feel like I belonged at a big law firm as one of the few.

I felt grateful to just be there, to be in that space…

My mindset has changed more than I could have imagined since then. I know my value and my worth. I believe I belong in whatever space I enter. But my journey has been long to get to that mindset. It’s been 15 years.
