“Latinistas”

This new line of “Latinistas” dolls by a toy company is offensive. I’m tired of Latinas being portrayed with their stomachs out and short skirts and massively long - mainly straight - hair.

Stop perpetuating Latina stereotypes that only harm us.

Stop acting like you’re “finally” representing us. You’re not.

You’re making us work harder as mothers to teach our daughters (and sons) that Latinas don’t have to dress or look like that to be loved and worthy.

Please try again, run focus groups, get real input, and come back when you have a doctor, teacher, student, business owner, lawyer, or some kind of inspirational and accurate image of our people.
