Well-being

I didn’t know what people meant by prioritizing their well-being or self-care before I had to do it myself.

Honestly, I had no clue.

I had no awareness of how important it was and how to actually do it.

Along my own journey and working with so many incredibly accomplished women, here’s what I learned

- You are responsible for your self-care. No one is going to make it a priority for you. Don’t expect them to.

- You have to experiment with what it looks like to prioritize yourself in this season of life. Having 3 kids 8 yrs old and under requires to me extremely selective with my time and energy. I’ve figured out starting my day at 5:30 am is the best for me to give myself movement and quiet time. I experimented with evenings, later mornings but that didn’t work for me. It doesn’t mean it can’t work for you.

- Spending time alone is necessary. Be alone. Find quiet space for yourself to think and reflect and move through your fear that something you have been avoiding, numbing or suppressing will come up. If you don’t deal with it now and heal, it will continue to permeate your life.

- Believe you can do this. Taking care of yourself as a priority is not common. Many women feel like they simply cannot do it. I’ve worked with women who said it was impossible and then they did it.

- Love yourself so hard (like you love everyone else) that you make taking care of yourself a non-negotiable.

You cannot truly be there for anyone else if you are not there for yourself.

I’m on a mission to help women prioritize their needs, wants, and themselves in their current season of life. Join my Empowered Women Mastermind to get in on the journey.
